Maximal Fat Oxidation: Comparison between Treadmill, Elliptical and Rowing Exercises

چکیده
Fat oxidation during exercise is associated with cardio-metabolic benefits, but the extent of which whole-body modality elicits greatest fat remains unclear. We investigated effects treadmill, elliptical and rowing on in healthy individuals. Nine males participated three, peak oxygen consumption tests, a ergometer. Indirect calorimetry was used to assess maximal (V̇O2peak), (MFO) rates, intensity MFO occurred (Fatmax). Mixed venous blood collected lactate gases concentrations. While V̇O2peak similar between modalities, rates were higher treadmill (mean ± SD; 0.61 0.06 g·min-1) compared both (0.41 0.08 g·min-1, p = 0.022) rower (0.40 0.017). Fatmax values also significantly (56.0 6.2 %V̇O2peak) (36.8 5.4 %V̇O2peak, 0.049) (31.6 5.0 0.021). Post-exercise concentrations lower following (p Exercising maximizes greater than exercises, an important improve oxidation, consequently, health.

Background&Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare of maximal fat oxidation and the exercise intensity that elicit maximal fat oxidation (Fatmax) between active and inactive elderly men. Methodology: 10 healthy elderly men that had regular exercise (at least 10 past years, ,VO2max 44.6±4.5 ml.kg.min) and 10 healthy elderly men that hadn’t any regular exercise (at least 10 past years, VO2m...

background the purpose of this study was to determine appropriate intensity of activity with fatmax during incremental exercise in the active and sedentary male participants. material and methods in this study, 11 active male students(vo2max42.87±1.75ml.kg-1.min-1,bmi 21.40±1.01 kg.m2) and 9 sedentary male students(vo2max36.57±2.95ml.kg-1.min-1, bmi 24.28±1.83kg.m2) were selected as the active ...
متن کاملRelationship between training status and maximal fat oxidation rate.
This study aimed to compare maximal fat oxidation rate parameters between moderate- and low-performance runners. Eighteen runners performed an incremental treadmill test to estimate individual maximal fat oxidation rate (Fatmax) based on gases measures and a 10,000-m run on a track. The subjects were then divided into a low and moderate performance group using two different criteria: 10,000-m t...
متن کاملComparison of different rowing exercises: trunk muscle activation and lumbar spine motion, load, and stiffness.
The objective of this study was to investigate 3 different rowing exercises and quantify the muscle activation of the torso and the hip musculature, together with the corresponding spinal loading and stiffness. Seven healthy male subjects from a university population were instrumented to obtain surface electromyography of selected trunk and hip muscles and to obtain spine position using an elec...
متن کاملDetermination of the exercise intensity that elicits maximal fat oxidation.
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to develop a test protocol to determine the exercise intensity at which fat oxidation rate is maximal (Fat(max)). METHOD Eighteen moderately trained cyclists performed a graded exercise test to exhaustion, with 5-min stages and 35-W increments (GE(35/5)). In addition, four to six continuous prolonged exercise tests (CE) at constant work rates, corresponding t...
